Many thanks to Kristin Jacobs, Broward County Commissioner, for donating $1,000 to our BWA scholarship fund.  Kristen writes, "I am pleased to be able to dedicate a portion of my excess campaign funds to Broward Women’s Alliance. Speaking of Scholarships ...
Broward Women's Alliance Fund for the Advancement of Women was established with the Community Foundation of Broward in 1997 to benefit women applicants who need support and encouragement for professional development through educational opportunities.  This fund is administered by a BWA committee, chaired this year by Edie Pearson. Gifts, memorials and bequests from individuals and organizations are the principal sources of scholarship funds. This year's application deadline is April 2. Women who are continuing their educations, and graduated from high school before June 2006, are encouraged to apply.
