The Salvation Army is looking for "Celebrity" bell ringers to help fill our red kettles during December 1, 2009 "Christmas on Las Olas". Shifts from 5 pm to 7 pm or 7 pm to 9 pm. - Congratulations to BWA members Commissioner M. Margaret Bates, Kip Hunter Epstein and Roberta Young for being honored by March of Dimes on November 6th as Women of Distinction. The award is given to women whose outstanding achievements both professionally and personally serve as an example in the Broward County Coummunity.
- The Cultural Foundation of Broward (CF) seeks an experienced professional for a part time position as Cultural Liaison. The position requires strong marketing and public relations to grow and sustain support for CF Board. - Please join in supporting "Books 'n' Bears at the Holidays", in partnership with the Broward County Library. Donate gently loved, plush teddy bears this month to be used in Broward County Library's "Books 'n' Bears at the Holidays" program. Before Nov. 30, 2009 please bring the teddy bears to a BWA meeting or drop them off in the Children's department at any Broward County Library.
- 3rd Annual Bonnet House Orchid Fair on December 5 and 6, 2009 from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Orchid & Exotic Plant vendors, orchid supplies and displays, auction, lectures and demonstrations, food and wine, and walking tours.
