On June 14, 2010, BWA members will be electing the slate of officers for 2010-2011 year.  The slate will be emailed to all active members on May 15, 2010.

• Nancy Olson announces her retirement from the Florida Marlins on July 15, 2010.  This year marks Nancy's 14th season with the team.  She has only missed 11 home games!  Nancy departs with two World Series rings, wonderful memories and memorie of a sport she truly loves.

• BWA members Tera Jenkins, Dorothy Klein and Mary Riedel are among the "100 Outstanding Women of Broward County Honorees" being recognized May 13 at a dinner and fashion show benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County and the Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center.
• The Soldani Group has been engaged by Broward College to present 2 sessions at their upcoming PTS Retreat in June.  Maria’s topics will be:  “Field Guide to Happiness” and “HUMOResilience: Tickling Stress Before It Tackles You!”  Maria will also be presenting during Nurses’ Week at North Broward Medical Center and at Cleveland Clinic Florida.  This past month, she was the program for the members of the Broward International Women’s Club, and she spoke on “Let Laughter Lighten the Load”.  Earlier in the month she also presented at the 50^th Anniversary Luncheon of the North Broward Medical Center’s Auxiliary.    On August 18, Salud al Dia Magazine will be hosting their annual conference: “Joining Forces for a Better Health”.  Maria will serve as their MC as well as a presenter – her topic will be: “The Laughter Remedy”.

• Dr.Donna Goldstein is thrilled to share that one of her clients, Betty Andrews,  a 49 year old North Miami Beach film producer and mom  who lost 50 pounds, is spotlighted on the cover of the new  Take Shape for Life brochure. Betty’s before and after photos  can also be seen  in  their new cookbook, where Donna’s role in helping her  maintain her weight loss for over a year is  highlighted.

• The Honorable Linda Pratt and Eileen O'Connor, both BWA members, are seeking re-election this year as judges in Broward County.

• Walk or run the Disney World "Wine and Dine" Half Marathon on October 2, 2010.  Train with Team In Training for this Nighttime 13.1 mile event that ends at EPCOT Wine and Dine Festival.  Proceeds support The Leukemia & Lymphoma and training starts May 15, 2010. www.teamintraining.org/sfl or 954-744-5300.

The 4th Annual Starfish Luncheon, benefitting Women In Distress, will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 11am – 1:30pm at the Signature Grand in Davie, FL.  With over 400 corporate leaders and business professionals attending, this is an essential public forum to honor and show appreciation for venerable people who are dedicated to changing the lives of domestic violence victims in Broward County.
